What is reflective Thinking?
According to Jhon Dewey (1910), there
are many modes of thinking such as belief, imagination, streams of
consciousness and reflection. The author emphasizes on what is reflective
thinking.
Reflection requires that the
thinker draw on the past experience, then the thinker will analyze the
experience that will be interpreted according to their culture, own
preferences, desires or beliefs in a short or long period of time, it depends
if the thinker is a novice reflective teacher or is an expert reflective
teacher. After that, the thinker could identify a problem or a question based
on the past experience analyzed. In that order, they can start to give some
explanation to the problem or the question, to propose solutions to later on
take actions.
